| Samsung SDS | Legacy | Samsung Knox Manage | Identity and Access Management (IAM) | CyberSecurity | n/a | 2019 | 2019 | In 2019, Micab implemented Samsung Knox Manage to manage Samsung Galaxy tablets deployed in taxis across the Philippines. The deployment positioned Samsung Knox Manage as the Identity and Access Management (IAM) control plane for device-level policy, application control, and operational oversight of the taxi fleet. The implementation focused on mobile device management capabilities, including location tracking, application blacklisting, and controls for SIM state and airplane mode to prevent unauthorized usage. Configuration work included device enrollment and centralized policy enforcement for in-vehicle tablets running the MiCab driver application, aligning mobile controls with fleet operations and driver workflows. Operational coverage was the Philippines region, where the solution was applied to Micab s taxi fleet and driver devices to standardize tablet behavior and secure roadside operations. Governance centered on centralized device management and policy rollout to drivers, enabling consistent enforcement of app permissions and connectivity controls across sites. Reported outcomes from the Samsung Knox Manage deployment included increased driver responsiveness and app usage, a reduction in average time to assign rides from about 5 minutes to under 3 minutes, lower device and data costs, and the ability to recover lost or stolen tablets. These outcomes were achieved while maintaining device control through Samsung Knox Manage as the Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform for Micab s fleet tablets. |
