| Epic Systems | Legacy | Epic ASAP | Clinical Trial Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Middlesex Health implemented Epic ASAP in the Clinical Trial Management category. The deployment was executed as a full cycle, big bang go live based out of Middletown, Connecticut and targeted clinical operations spanning emergency department intake, ambulatory access points, and inpatient procedure ordering.
Epic ASAP was configured alongside a set of clinical modules and workflows certified by application analysts, including Orders, Order Transmittal, Bugsy infection control surveillance, ClinDoc clinical documentation, Stork maternity workflows, Ambulatory, and Willow. Configuration work emphasized ED registration and throughput workflows, clinician documentation templates, order transmittal orchestration, and infection control flagging to align point of care activity with study and clinical procedure requirements.
Integrations were established between Epic ASAP and the listed Epic modules to enable end to end progression from registration to orders and documentation, supporting medication and procedure handoffs where Willow and Stork interfaces were required. Operational coverage included emergency, ambulatory, and inpatient procedure teams, reflecting cross departmental use of Epic ASAP to manage clinical trial related patient flows and routine clinical activity.
Governance and support were delivered through a Senior Epic Application Analyst model, with certifications in Orders, Order Transmittal, Bugsy, Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Stork, and ASAP and an on call rotation covering Orders, Bugsy, ClinDoc, Stork, ASAP, and Willow. That governance structure centralized application ownership, triage, and configuration stewardship for Epic ASAP while enabling ongoing tuning of clinical documentation and order workflows.
