In 2004, Mitsui & Co implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support its diverse businesses spanning metals, machinery, energy and consumer lifestyle products. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 installation served as the companys ERP Financial platform to centralize and standardize core financial accounting across business units.
Configuration emphasis was on ERP Financial capabilities, leveraging SAP ERP ECC 6.0 finance modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and controlling to align financial master data and posting rules with Mitsuis multi-industry operating model. The deployment used standard finance process orchestration to consolidate transactional financial operations and fiscal reporting flows.
As part of a later upgrade to a more flexible system landscape Mitsui engaged the System Landscape Optimization group to execute a controlled data migration and consolidation of SAP instances. That System Landscape Optimization engagement included coordinated cutover sequencing and tooling to minimize disruption while reconfiguring the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 landscape.
Governance centered on centralized change coordination and a tightly controlled migration window, the data migration completing with minimal downtime of only two days. The effort impacted finance and accounting operations across Mitsuis business units, reinforcing centralized ERP Financial processing and simplified landscape management.

Operational duties extended to corporate pass administration and work pass applications, data migration activities to Unit4 Prosoft v8.5, new hire provisioning such as employee ID creation and system access password distribution, and ongoing maintenance of P files and confirmation or retirement tracking.
