In 2015, Munchy's implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX as an ERP Financial deployment to standardize core back-office and supply chain processes across its Malaysia operations and to provide a platform for supporting Thailand and China business units. The program was led by Munchy's Malaysia IT organization which managed group IT budget and operations and had responsibility for Malaysia and Thailand operations as well as newly acquired China business IT support.
Microsoft Dynamics AX was configured to cover Finance, Trade and Logistic, Warehouse Management System, and Production capabilities. The implementation included Finance module configurations for general ledger and accounts payable and receivable, Trade and Logistic configurations to manage order to cash and procurement workflows, WMS module configuration for warehouse operations, and Production module deployment to support manufacturing execution, all aligned with the ERP Financial category.
Integrations were implemented between Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 and third party 3PL WMS systems to exchange inventory and fulfillment transactions, and interface work was completed to link the ERP with multiple banks for online payment processing. Business intelligence integration used QlikView to consume AX transactional data for reporting and data modeling, and network work included IPVPN WAN implementation inside Malaysia with plans to extend international IPVPN connectivity to China, Thailand, and Indonesia to support distributed ERP operations.
Governance and rollout were managed internally with dedicated project management oversight for AX2009 module implementations and interface projects, coordinating finance, supply chain, production, and logistics stakeholders. The approach emphasized configuration-driven deployments, interface orchestration for 3PL and banking systems, and centralized IT ownership for ongoing operations and support.

In 2015, Munchy's implemented QlikView as its enterprise BI platform to centralize reporting and analysis across its Southeast Asia manufacturing and distribution footprint, establishing a clear Analytics and BI capability under Group IT control. The QlikView deployment was managed alongside a broader IT mandate that included building and operating Malaysia and Thailand IT teams, standing up a China IT team for a newly acquired business, and managing the Munchy’s Group IT budget and operations.
The QlikView implementation emphasized data modelling, dashboarding, and ad hoc reporting capabilities. Munchy's IT team was responsible for developing analytic data models to support business analysis across production, finance, trade and logistic, warehouse management system processes, and sales operations, aligning QlikView data structures with modules delivered in Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 and operational WMS and sales force automation initiatives.
Operational integration work focused on feeding transactional and operational datasets into QlikView, ingesting ERP, WMS, and SFA data flows that were produced by concurrent projects. The program ran alongside network expansion efforts including an IPVPN WAN for Malaysia with plans for international IPVPN to support China, Thailand and Indonesia, enabling cross‑site data consolidation for the Analytics and BI layer.
Governance for QlikView was exercised through centralized BI stewardship embedded in Group IT, with the IT organization providing project management for ERP rollouts, interfaces to 3PL WMS systems and bank online payment interfaces, and administration of the company intranet and web projects. The governance scope included ensuring consistent data modelling standards, report version control, and aligning BI deliverables to operational use cases in production, finance, logistics and sales.
