In 2011, Murphy Oil implemented Pandell AP to provide AP Automation while selecting Pandell's AFENexus AFE solution. Murphy selected Pandell's AFENexus AFE solution in late 2011 and rolled out the first phase for Murphy EXPRO in early 2012 to speed AFE approvals and capital tracking within its US operations.
The implementation aligned Pandell AP with a broader Pandell financial suite that included AFE and JV capabilities, with module usage inferred from the companywide adoption of AFE and JV functionality across subsidiaries. Functional coverage emphasized accounts payable automation, invoice capture and approval workflows, and linkage between AFE approvals and capital spend tracking, consistent with AP Automation category workflows.
Rollout was phased, with the initial go live focused on Murphy EXPRO in early 2012 and operational scope concentrated in US operations and affiliated subsidiaries. Governance and process alignment concentrated on unifying AFE approval paths with accounts payable processing to accelerate approvals and improve capital tracking, with Pandell AP and AFENexus operating as integrated elements of Murphy Oil's financial application stack.

| ADP | Legacy | ADP Workforce Now | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Murphy Oil implemented ADP Workforce Now to establish Core HR capabilities supporting payroll, tax compliance, and employee record management. The ADP Workforce Now deployment explicitly handled year end administration of tax slips, including balancing, reporting, and issuing T4, T4A and T2200s as part of statutory payroll close activities.
Configuration and functional scope centered on payroll tax reporting, employee master data management, benefits enrollment records, and year end tax slip generation. ADP Workforce Now was configured to produce statutory reporting formats required by Canadian authorities, and to manage withholding and garnishment data required for remittance workflows.
The implementation integrated ADP Workforce Now with ADP eTime (Kronos) for time and attendance feeds, and interfaced with Successfactors HRIS and SAP to synchronize employee data and financial posting details. These integrations supported end to end processing where time capture informed payroll calculations, HRIS maintained personnel attributes used for tax and benefit treatment, and SAP provided accounting and payroll posting reconciliation.
Operationally the rollout addressed centralized year end payroll processes and compliance reporting to external stakeholders, including CRA, WCB, EHT, Pension agencies, Garnishments administrators, Statistics Canada, and Service Canada. Governance emphasis was placed on controlled year end balancing, staged issuance of tax slips, and coordinated remitting and reporting workflows across payroll, HR and finance teams.

In 2013, Murphy Oil implemented SAP ERP IS-OIL. The SAP ERP IS-OIL deployment replaced IFS BOLO formerly P2 BOLO and included a six month conversion of BOLO revenue processes to SAP-PRA. This SAP ERP IS-OIL implementation is an Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP deployment focused on revenue operations.
The implementation centered on SAP-PRA production revenue accounting within SAP ERP IS-OIL, with configuration for royalty processing, regulatory accounting workflows, and revenue recognition controls. Functional capabilities implemented included month end close orchestration, balance sheet reconciliations for revenue accounts, and structured audit response workflows. Configuration and automation concentrated on the revenue, regulatory accounting and royalty check run processes used by the finance team.
Revenue and regulatory accounting data from SAP ERP IS-OIL were integrated into the corporate general ledger to support the monthly close and reconciliations. Operational coverage was centered on the Murphy Oil finance organization in Houston, impacting revenue accounting, regulatory reporting, royalty disbursements and audit liaison functions. Project staffing included leadership of an internal implementation team that directed workflows, hired and trained accounting staff to operate the new system.
Governance emphasis was on Sarbanes Oxley compliance, with defined control responsibilities for audit inquiries and review of balance sheet reconciliations. The conversion from BOLO revenue to SAP-PRA was executed within the specified six month project window in 2013, and post go live responsibilities included royalty check runs and monthly close ownership.
