NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Technographics
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 6000 NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory has purchased the following applications: Adobe Substance 3D Designer for 3D Modeling in 2025, Amazon EC2 for Application Hosting and Computing Services in 2021, Lifesize Meeting for Audio Video and Web Conferencing in 2008 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Adobe Systems , Amazon Web Services (AWS) , Microsoft or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory revenues, which have grown to $2.50 billion in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2025, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory implemented Adobe Substance 3D Designer as a core tool within an augmented reality asset production pipeline for the Europa Clipper public engagement program. Apps Category:
The implementation used Adobe Substance 3D Designer for node based material authoring and the broader Adobe Substance 3D Collection for texture creation and scene composition, complemented by Substance 3D Painter for layered texturing, Substance Sampler for extracting elevation and material data from NASA satellite imagery, and Substance 3D Stager for rapid lighting and camera composition. Adobe Substance 3D Designer was used to build reusable, scientifically accurate materials that were combined with NASA supplied 3D models and telemetry derived imagery to produce AR friendly assets.
The asset pipeline produced 146 high fidelity assets, including photorealistic 3D models of Europa surface states and the Clipper spacecraft, and included more than 30 interactive elements implemented as roughly 30 interactive triggers, 585 actions, and more than 50 animations. The team optimized outputs for mobile delivery using Adobe Media Encoder and Creative Cloud workflows, enabling a single link AR distribution that requires no app installation, and ensured assets could be reused across the JPL website, live touring events, classroom installations, and at home viewing.
Governance and production discipline were established through a storyboard to animatic workflow, scripted narration produced by JPL MediaLab and edited in Adobe Audition, and iterative validation against NASA imagery to maintain scientific accuracy. The implementation impacted JPL Public Engagement and MediaLab functions by creating a repeatable 3D asset and AR content pipeline, and delivered an accessible ClipperAR experience that engaged audiences across in person events, classrooms, and consumer mobile devices.

In 2008, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory implemented Lifesize Meeting to support distributed engineering and research teams across its United States sites. The deployment targeted Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities to improve real time collaboration for frequent technical reviews and design discussions.
The implementation centered on Lifesize Meeting and LifeSize room systems observed in press coverage, configured as room based endpoints and desktop meeting nodes for synchronous engineering sessions. Functional modules and capabilities emphasized multi party video conferencing, room system endpoint management, and meeting orchestration to enable scheduled and ad hoc technical meetings.
Deployment structure began with room pilots and demos in 2008 and expanded into broader campus rollouts, instrumenting conference rooms and desktop endpoints across research and engineering departments. Operational scope focused on research and engineering process areas within the United States, enabling cross site technical collaboration and reducing the frequency of in person travel.
Governance moved toward centralized operational ownership within JPL research and engineering groups, standardizing meeting workflows and room booking practices to support high cadence technical meetings. Lifesize Meeting provided the Audio Video and Web Conferencing foundation for continued expansion of video enabled collaboration on campus.
