In 2016, National Bank of Egypt implemented Oracle Flexcube as its Core Banking application. The deployment was led from Cairo with a central core team responsible for system configuration, parametrization, and data migration across deposit and lending workflows.
The Oracle Flexcube implementation concentrated on CASA (Current and Savings Accounts) and Overdraft modules, with the application technical consultant role specializing in module parametrization and data migration. Responsibilities included configuring product parameters, interest and fee schedules, account lifecycle rules, overdraft limit logic, and executing migration runs to populate accounts and balances into Oracle Flexcube.
Architecture and operational coverage centered on a centralized core banking instance supporting branch operations and retail banking functions at National Bank of Egypt, with data migration pipelines to reconcile account and transaction history into the new system. The program established handoffs between core operations, branches, and data governance teams to validate migrated datasets and stabilize transaction posting within Oracle Flexcube.
Governance and rollout followed a core team model, with the consultant embedded from November 2016 to lead cutover reconciliation, migration validation, and parameter governance for CASA and Overdraft. Change control processes and parameter management workflows were instituted to control configuration changes and to support ongoing product onboarding into the Core Banking environment.
