In 2020, Natura &Co launched Degreed For Business in April to a subset of employees at its flagship Natura brand and at The Body Shop across six countries in Central and South America. This Learning and Development deployment was the first joint L&D initiative between the two brands, which increased program visibility and elevated expectations for adoption and stability.
The implementation emphasized curated content and skills-focused learning pathways typical of Degreed For Business, with the L&D team prioritizing personalized and resilience-oriented content over the originally planned digital transformation curriculum. Content curation and learner experience configuration were adjusted to address remote work needs, emphasizing resiliency, accountability, emotional intelligence, and adapting to remote work as core learning themes at launch.
Operational rollout was targeted and regional, led by the regional education and development coordinator for LATAM, Clara Perrin, who helped implement Degreed For Business in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. The program was advanced a month earlier than planned in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and HR treated the launch as an opportunity to demonstrate operational and technical competence because HR was not previously perceived as a highly technological department.
Governance focused on a controlled, employee-centered rollout to a subset of users rather than a broad push, with the L&D team prioritizing employee needs over rigid mandates. The launch was reported as very stable, with no technical problems and no support burden, which validated the operational approach and enabled the team to position Degreed For Business as a scalable Learning and Development platform for future expansion.
