In 2022, NHK NASCO implemented Plex Quality Management System as its Quality Management application to centralize quality workflows at the Bowling Green, KY manufacturing site. The deployment targeted the quality function within the Plex QMS/ERP system, with the Assistant Quality Manager serving as the primary lead for implementation activities related to Quality and for operationalizing quarantine and disposition processes for coil spring products. The implementation configured core Quality Management capabilities consistent with the vendor offering, including quarantine control and disposition routing, nonconformance tracking, inspection planning and execution, lot and serial traceability, and quality reporting and record capture. Plex Quality Management System was used to formalize inspection workstreams and to standardize data capture for inspectors and engineering staff, aligning inspection checklists and disposition codes with shop floor practices. Operational coverage centered on site-level quality operations, explicitly supporting the reporting and disposition of all quarantined coil spring related products and the daily guidance of quality personnel. Implementation governance included role-based responsibilities covering two engineers, one supervisor, three group leaders, and approximately 25 inspectors, and it embedded the Plex QMS quality modules into existing plant inspection and containment workflows. Process and governance changes focused on establishing formal quarantine to disposition workflows, centralized nonconformance records, and clearer routing of disposition decisions to engineering and supervisory roles. The Assistant Quality Manager retained primary accountability for quality-related aspects of the Plex QMS/ERP rollout, translating inspection and disposition practices into configured system processes and operator-facing procedures.
