| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Nine Energy Services implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP for ERP Financial to centralize monthly financial reporting and capture project performance data supporting C level executives. The deployment focused on delivering executive grade financials for an operating profile that generated an estimated $18MM a month in revenue, with Oracle NetSuite ERP serving as the system of record for financial consolidation and project accounting metrics.
Configuration work emphasized core financial modules including general ledger, accounts receivable, project accounting, revenue management, and financial reporting and dashboards. The team built KPI and executive reporting workflows inside Oracle NetSuite ERP and paired those outputs with Salesforce data to produce monthly presentations for customers and C level stakeholders. One explicit automation implemented was an auto calculation of overtime hours in Salesforce that fed into revenue workflows, which resulted in increased recognized revenue of $500K per quarter in Q3 and Q4 2019.
Integrations were centered on a NetSuite to Salesforce linkage to exchange project performance data and time and billing records for consolidated executive reporting. Salesforce retained customer notification and advanced notice tracking while NetSuite retained transactional financials, enabling on time delivery reporting that improved customer satisfaction and reduced monetary concessions to customers. Reporting enhancements also extended to non conformance quality issue datasets, with added data points and customized reports to reduce risk and limit workers compensation related payouts.
Governance and process controls were instituted around monthly KPI production, internal audits, and investor reporting. The implementation supported audit activities led by the VP of Auditing, delivering findings that reduced certain areas of financial exposure, and it provided a single point of contact model for the VP of Investor Relations and Marketing for product releases and quarterly SEC reporting. Overall the work prioritized integrated financial and project accounting workflows between Oracle NetSuite ERP and Salesforce, formalized KPI delivery, and strengthened audit and customer notification processes.

In 2022, Nine Energy Service implemented Unum Total Leave alongside Unum HR Connect integration with ADP Workforce Now to simplify leave administration for its U.S. workforce. The deployment targeted HR and leave management processes across the U.S. region and centered on Absence and Leave Management capabilities. The implementation configured Unum Total Leave to handle leave intake, documentation capture, billing and reporting workflows, and case-level status tracking. Unum HR Connect was integrated with ADP Workforce Now to synchronize employee data and leave events, creating an automated data flow between payroll and leave administration. The architecture combined the Unum Total Leave application as the case management and leave orchestration layer, with HR Connect acting as the integration layer to the employer HRIS. Operationally this provided HR a single view of leave status and documentation, and the integration explicitly reduced manual billing work in leave administration. The rollout emphasized centralized leave workflows, standardized reporting and streamlined billing and reporting processes within Absence and Leave Management.
