In 2016 Northwood implemented SAP Business ByDesign as its ERP Financial solution. The SAP Business ByDesign deployment was positioned to centralize finance and internal process management across the manufacturing business, with explicit focus on master data and departmental configuration.
Implementation activities documented by Northwood include business process mapping and case development, identifying and documenting business requirements and objectives, GAP analysis, and user acceptance testing. The implementation of SAP Business ByDesign encompassed configuring finance related modules, setting up new departments on the platform, processing of incomplete items workflows, and master data creation to support transactional integrity and accounting workflows.
Operational coverage extended across finance and adjacent internal teams, with the IT business analyst role capturing and synthesizing stakeholder input, transforming user requests into deliverable demands for implementation, and assisting in testing and rollout. The SAP Business ByDesign environment was treated as a cloud native ERP Financial suite, with processes instrumented for ongoing support and incident management as part of normal operations.
Governance and process changes included establishing an effective support process, accountability for critical incidents management, and working with business counterparts to define a future pipeline of business change projects. Activities also included investigating operational requirements and opportunities, documenting systems impacts and acceptance criteria, and embedding system level acceptance practices into business workflows.

In 2017 Northwood implemented Mitrefinch Time and Attendance. Mitrefinch Time and Attendance was deployed as the primary Time and Attendance application to centralize electronic time capture and site holiday records for the manufacturing workforce.
Configuration emphasized modules for electronic time capture, holiday and absence recording, and exception handling to surface attendance anomalies. Operational activities documented in the implementation included maintaining site holiday records and addressing anomalies within Mitrefinch, while HR staff acted as a liaison between employees and management to resolve policy questions and attendance issues.
The Mitrefinch deployment operated alongside SAP and spreadsheet-based reporting workflows, with administrative staff entering goods received notes into SAP, raising purchase orders, and processing goods receipting as part of broader administrative processes. Daily updated spreadsheets were used to consolidate Mitrefinch attendance extracts and other operational inputs for monthly reporting.
Governance and process work centered on centralized record keeping and a single point of contact for employee queries, with responsibilities spanning staffing documentation, training and performance evaluation paperwork, diary management, sourcing workwear, ordering office supplies, and general housekeeping. Day-to-day system stewardship and data maintenance within Mitrefinch Time and Attendance were integral to ensuring accurate holiday records and handling attendance exceptions.
