In 2018 Nous Group implemented Certinia Financial Management as its ERP Financial application to support corporate accounting and statutory reporting across its consulting operations. The implementation was positioned to centralize core financial processes for Nous Group while supporting multi-entity financial administration in Australia, the UK and Canada.
The Certinia Financial Management deployment encompassed core general ledger and accounts payable/receivable processing, month-end close orchestration, entity-level and consolidated financial statement production, tax-related lodgements and audit support. Project accounting capabilities were configured to align with consulting revenue recognition and project cost tracking, and the system design emphasized configurable chart of accounts and period close workflows to support timely financial close.
Certinia Financial Management was integrated into Nous Group’s broader finance technology landscape, interfacing with PowerBI for reporting and analytics, Kimble for project management and project accounting data, and Fraedom for expense processing. The implementation reflected an ecosystem approach where Certinia Financial Management served as the transactional accounting hub while reporting and project systems exchanged master data and transactional feeds.
Governance for the Certinia Financial Management rollout was anchored in the 16-person Finance function reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with an Accounting and Reporting Manager overseeing a team of four accountants across Melbourne and Sydney. Operational ownership included finance process redesign for month-end and audit workflows, and coordination with the internal IT team for ongoing integration troubleshooting and system configuration management.

| The Access Group | Legacy | Access MicrOpay (ex Sage MicrOpay) | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 Nous Group implemented Access MicrOpay formerly known as Sage MicrOpay for Payroll. The implementation centralized payroll processing for a professional services firm with approximately 500 employees across Australia, the UK and Canada, supporting Nous Group’s expanding international footprint.
Access MicrOpay was configured to manage core payroll processing workflows, statutory payments, superannuation and pension calculations, pay runs, leave handling and payroll reporting. Configuration work included setting up new company payroll records and payroll task structures to accommodate merged payroll responsibilities following acquisitions.
Operational coverage included oversight of Australian, UK and Canadian payrolls, with responsibility assigned to a small in‑house payroll team led by a Head of Payroll and supported by a Payroll Coordinator and Payroll Officer. The rollout included transitioning payroll for newly acquired Cubane Consulting into the Nous payroll environment, and governance provisions anticipated management of outsourced payroll services for non Australian entities when required.
Governance was structured as a partnership with the CFO to align payroll operations with global growth initiatives, combining strategic leadership and hands on payroll processing during leave coverage periods. Staff experience referenced in the program included use of MicrOpay, Sage, Salesforce, Kimble and FinancialForce, reflecting the need to operate across payroll, commercial operations and professional services tooling.

| serko.travel | Legacy | serko Travel | Travel Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 Nous Group implemented serko Travel as its Travel Management application to centralize staff travel booking and itinerary coordination for a 750 person professional services firm. The deployment was used by office coordination and administrative teams to book flights and accommodation, and it was positioned to support corporate travel request workflows and expense tracking across business development and client engagement activities.
serko Travel was implemented to handle core Travel Management functions including flight reservations, hotel bookings and consolidated itinerary management, with configuration focused on traveler profiles and booking controls aligned to internal approval practices. The application was used directly by office coordinators for day to day bookings and to generate booking records that informed corporate credit card reconciliation and expense oversight.
Operational coverage centered on the office coordination function and Finance related expense reconciliation processes, with the Office Coordinator serving as the primary point of contact for suppliers and changes to travel arrangements. The system supported coordination of travel for client meetings, conferences and events, and interfaced with existing administrative workflows without named third party integrations provided in the source.
Governance and process responsibilities were formalized around a centralized booking owner model, where the Office Coordinator managed travel requests, supplier liaison and corporate card reconciliation workflows, and supervised a part time office support administrator who executed bookings and calendar coordination. serko Travel therefore became the operational hub for Travel Management at Nous Group, embedding booking controls into everyday administrative and finance processes.
