| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, Income Insurance implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to centralize financial reporting and controls. The deployment established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary financial accounting and reporting backbone for the organization and was the focus of internal audit risk assessment and annual audit planning activities that year.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured to support financial closing and reporting, accounts payable and procurement workflows, and fixed asset management, aligning with standard Financial Accounting, Materials Management and Asset Management capabilities. The implementation was scoped to ensure transactional posting and reconciliation processes were consolidated in SAP ERP ECC 6.0 while allowing for interfacing needs to adjacent systems relevant to payroll and insurance product processing.
Internal audit workstreams documented integrations and IT general control coverage for SAP ERP ECC 6.0 alongside Windows and UNIX host environments, the eBao insurance system, Peoplesoft payroll, and HRPS timekeeping, reflecting a multi-system operational footprint. Audit activities included preparing engagement plans, managing fieldwork and supervising audit staff to evaluate both automated system controls and manual controls related to procurement and disbursement, payroll management, insurance underwriting and claims processing, and fixed asset accounting.
Governance and assurance processes were formalized through internal audit engagement plans, audit programs and correspondence, issuance of internal audit reports, and tracking and follow up on identified issues. Audit teams also performed ad hoc projects during the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 era, including preliminary investigations of whistle blower reports, presentations of whistle blowing policy in orientations, and data analysis using ACL to support control testing and fraud inquiry.

In 2010, Income Insurance implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Global Payroll as its core Payroll application for managing payroll processing and statutory reporting across its Singapore operations. The Oracle PeopleSoft Global Payroll deployment centralized payroll processing, payroll calculation engines, batch processing workflows, payroll reporting outputs, and reconciliation routines to support payroll management and financial closing activities.
Configuration and functional scope included payroll rule configuration for statutory compliance, payroll control workflows, data validation and audit logging, and payroll reporting templates. The implementation emphasized payroll processing capabilities and payroll data reconciliation to feed financial close and HR reporting processes.
The deployment was integrated into the broader IT landscape and validated alongside existing systems, with interfaces and data flows between Oracle PeopleSoft Global Payroll and HRPS timekeeping for attendance feeds, and financial reporting systems such as SAP for general ledger posting, and it was assessed in context with the eBao insurance system. Technical environment reviews covered Windows and UNIX infrastructure supporting the application and its batch processing.
Governance and control work was driven by internal audit activities that performed risk assessment and prepared the annual audit plan, managed fieldwork and audit staffing, evaluated automated and manual controls relevant to payroll management, and performed IT General Computer Controls reviews of PeopleSoft. Audit outputs included internal audit reports, tracked remediation of findings, and ongoing compliance and control monitoring tied to payroll operations.
