In 2017 Oakley implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core enterprise resource planning platform, positioning the deployment within the ERP Financial category to support retail, e-commerce, and wholesale financial and order fulfillment processes. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was used as the transactional and master data backbone for order to cash and financial posting across commercial channels.
The implementation encompassed SAP Fashion Management Solution FMS for e-commerce, SAP ECC with AFS functionality for the sports channel, and extensive SD configuration work supporting OTC solution architecture. Implementation activities included As-Is and To-Be process workshops, requirement gathering, configuration, gap analysis, testing, and user acceptance testing, with master data conversions executed using a DTMT tool.
Architecturally the program integrated SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with a Hybris front end for oakley.com and used Semarchy as middleware for master and transactional data orchestration, with SAP serving as the backend order fulfillment system. Interfaces were designed and deployed for master and transactional data flows, and integration testing proceeded through unit integration testing, UAT, and production support phases, with regional rollouts planned for NA, EMEA, and APAC.
Governance and rollout governance centered on multiple workshops and stakeholder presentations to align As-Is and To-Be processes, formalized testing cycles, and structured user training prior to go live. Post go-live support and stabilization were part of the operational plan, with dedicated SD support and OTC solution architecture roles driving business process adoption.
Operational coverage spanned Oakley e-commerce for oakley.com, wholesale implementations for Oliver Peoples, and sports channel operations configured into new company codes for North America under a project identified as Project Moonshot. The deployment affected commercial, e-commerce, and finance functions, consolidating order fulfillment and master data processes into SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
