OBOS Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by OBOS and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 2500 OBOS employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that OBOS has purchased the following applications: AIMS for Analytics and BI in 2018, Microsoft 365 for Collaboration in 2020, Hotjar for Customer Experience in 2017 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems OBOS is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Eyer , Microsoft , Netigate or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing OBOS revenues, which have grown to $945.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for OBOS intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2018, OBOS implemented AIMS to provide enterprise-grade Analytics and BI for its integration landscape, establishing AIMS as the primary platform for monitoring integration performance and stakeholder reporting. The OBOS team engaged the AIMS onboarding team in late 2017 and moved rapidly to operationalize the platform across BizTalk instances and SQL servers, achieving a fast time to insight.
The AIMS implementation included automated environment discovery and behavior learning, AIMS automatically mapped OBOS integration environment and used artificial intelligence to learn normal behavior for thousands of components, accounting for seasonal variations without manual configuration. Configuration focused on real-time dashboards and custom reporting capabilities, enabling the build out of multiple tailored reports for different stakeholder audiences and instrumentation of key integration metrics.
Integrations were centered on Microsoft BizTalk and SQL server ecosystems, with AIMS deployed against those runtime surfaces to capture messaging, orchestration, and database interaction telemetry. The insights from AIMS were used to guide the phased rollout of additional applications, and the platform supported identification of the critical business processes running across the integration layer.
Governance and operationalization were driven collaboratively with the AIMS onboarding team, which helped OBOS identify critical processes and codify dashboard-driven monitoring workflows for live performance tracking. After only two weeks of operation OBOS had new operational insights and had already used AIMS dashboards and custom reports to inform further rollout and stakeholder reporting.

In 2020, OBOS implemented Microsoft 365 to serve Collaboration across the organization, supporting its construction and real estate operations and a user base of approximately 2500 employees. Microsoft 365 is referenced on OBOS' public website and functions as the primary Collaboration platform for internal communication and document handling.
The implementation emphasizes core Microsoft 365 capabilities, including Exchange Online for enterprise email, Microsoft Teams for synchronous collaboration and meetings, SharePoint and OneDrive for document management and intranet content, and the Office productivity applications. Configuration work focused on tenant level identity and access management with Azure Active Directory, device and endpoint management through Intune, and built in information governance controls for retention and external sharing.
Operational coverage targeted corporate collaboration across functions typical to a construction and real estate organization, including project teams, property management workflows, and corporate support services. The deployment approach aligns with centralized IT management of policies, conditional access, and compliance settings while enabling distributed user collaboration through Microsoft 365.
Governance centered on tenant level policy enforcement, external sharing controls, and information protection to balance collaboration with regulatory and corporate requirements. The narrative is limited to structural implementation details and observed presence on the OBOS website, with no claims about measured outcomes or specific third party integrations.

In 2017, OBOS deployed Hotjar on its website to capture user behavior and on-page feedback for digital channels. Hotjar was positioned within OBOS' Customer Experience tooling to support web UX research, qualitative feedback collection, and conversion analysis across the corporate web properties. OBOS Hotjar Customer Experience supports product, marketing and UX teams in monitoring and prioritizing experience issues.
The implementation is client-side, relying on a Hotjar JavaScript snippet embedded site-wide to enable heatmaps, session recordings, funnels and on-page feedback widgets as primary functional modules, with configuration focused on event tagging and view segmentation. Operational scope centers on OBOS' public website presence in Norway, with primary users in digital product, UX research and marketing operations responsible for tagging, session sampling and dashboarding. Governance emphasis includes defining data collection scope, sampling controls and consent-aware deployment patterns consistent with regional privacy expectations, while the Hotjar application provides session-level playback and aggregated behavior reports for team-level analysis.
