In 2020, Ocean Network Express, operating as ONE, implemented SAP S/4 HANA as part of an ERP Financial modernization and consolidated SAP workloads onto Google Cloud with DXC Technology. DXC Technology led a phased migration and consolidation effort to unify the company’s financial landscape and provide a single, real-time view of financial data across the organization.
The deployment architecture moved two SAP instances onto Google Cloud, with an initial phase migrating the global headquarters instance followed by regional accounting systems, completing the core consolidation in 12 weeks from development environment to production. DXC provides ongoing managed services for system software, infrastructure configuration and service consumption, and the platform design incorporates cross site failover to support business continuity and high availability cited at 99.99 percent.
Functional scope included SAP S/4 HANA financial capabilities for centralized revenue and payment management, integrated with ONE’s Opus container terminal operation system to align operational and financial transactions. ONE also engaged DXC to implement SAP SuccessFactors modules to standardize HR processes across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, learning and development, and succession planning, giving employees self service access and unified HR process management.
Integrations extended beyond transactional systems, with collaboration to modernize legacy data environments and create a BigQuery based data lake that ingests SAP financial data and operational feeds from Opus for consolidated analysis and reporting. Governance enforced Google Cloud security framework guidelines for new environments and a structured approach to onboarding subsidiaries, with DXC supporting local regulatory and tax compliance requirements where needed.
Operational coverage spans 40 countries where the new SAP system was implemented in six months, supporting 14,000 customers through transactions across 53 countries and providing 8,000 employees with upgraded HR capabilities. The project delivered rapid consolidation on Google Cloud, continuous managed operations by DXC, and integrated data pipelines to enable more complete financial and operational reporting.
