In 2015, Otsuka implemented Microsoft Azure Cloud Services as its Application Hosting and Computing Services to host and deliver the corporate website. The deployment focused on hosting the public facing site and supporting web based content delivery and application workloads for the company website.
The implementation used Microsoft Azure Cloud Services to provide core cloud hosting capabilities common to Application Hosting and Computing Services, including elastic compute for web applications, object storage for static assets and media, content delivery for caching and edge delivery, and load balancing for traffic distribution. Platform level services supported SSL termination, centralized logging and monitoring, and automated provisioning of application instances to match variable web traffic.
Operationally the Azure deployment is integrated with Otsuka website infrastructure and supports web operations and corporate communications teams in Japan. Governance and operational controls were aligned to central IT oversight for cloud resource provisioning, role based access for publishing workflows, and monitoring processes to maintain website availability and content update cadence.
