Italy required deeper tax rule customization due to complex VAT rules, and the program coordinated resources from suppliers and internal finance teams to remediate exceptions and tune financial configurations.
The program ran alongside Ariba procurement roll-out activities and introduced OneTrust to support GDPR data request management and traceability ahead of the regulatory deadline. Integrations and operational coverage therefore spanned finance, procurement and data privacy functions, with technical and process alignment between SAP Business One, Ariba and the newly adopted OneTrust application.
Governance and stabilization work included the creation and chairing of a Change Approval Board, a weekly change improvement forum, and a Health Check programme that validated correct usage and captured outstanding issues six months after go live. Operational integrations were coordinated with the recently implemented HRIS, the procurement and accounts payable flow via ARIBA for invoices and purchase orders, external payroll teams including KPMG and PWC, and multiple benefit providers. The payroll process was linked to Finance for monthly and quarterly reconciliations so payroll adjustments could be reflected in accounting records.
Governance and workflow responsibilities were formalized around centralized payroll ownership, monthly reconciliation and pension compliance workflows, handling contractor agreements and extensions, and being the primary escalation point for employee payroll queries. ADP Freedom functioned as the operational payroll backbone for Otsuka Pharmaceutical Europe, supporting consolidated payroll governance and ongoing payroll administration.

Training and change management emphasized end user adoption for PO and T&E processes to ensure consistent use of SAP Concur Travel across finance and business stakeholders.
Outcomes explicitly recorded during the program included a 20 percent productivity improvement from implementing the Global Payment Hub and strengthened internal controls, while AP ledger reconciliations and audit support processes were formalized to ensure timely query resolution and month end close discipline.
