In 2015, Outil PAC implemented Epicor Prophet 21 as its Distribution ERP to unify operational practices across its pan-Canadian industrial tool distribution network. Outil PAC is the largest industrial tool distribution network in Canada and had grown through the merger of three partners, which left branches operating with independent processes that required consolidation.
The implementation emphasized core Distribution ERP capabilities, with configuration to formalize purchasing workflows and a centralized inventory management engine to support forecasting and replenishment. Epicor Prophet 21 was configured to manage sales order processing, customer-specific pricing and inventory control to enable faster responses to customer requests and tailor-made service offerings.
EC Solutions served as the SI VAR partner, providing implementation, configuration and technical services to adapt Epicor Prophet 21 to Outil PAC operational realities. The deployment addressed hardware compatibility issues and was rolled out across multiple branch locations in Canada, covering purchasing, inventory, sales and customer service functions.
Governance and process restructuring accompanied the rollout, with standardized procedures and formal purchasing approvals introduced to replace disparate branch-level practices. EC Solutions led training and configuration workshops to embed new inventory forecasting, replenishment rules and price management workflows into daily operations.
Stated outcomes include a better inventory management strategy and unified practices to support improved sales, profits, productivity, reliability, security and growth. Fabrice Gignoux, General Manager at Outil PAC, said P21 allows us to predict our future needs, and Outil PAC reported that EC Solutions adapted the software to their needs rather than implementing a one size fits all solution.
