| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2010 | 2012 |
In 2010, Pacific Gas and Electric Company implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core ERP Financial platform. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment centralized core financial processes and served as the primary system of record for PG&E finance and accounting functions across the enterprise.
The implementation included standard ERP Financial functional capabilities such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and cost controlling, configured to support regulatory accounting and utility finance workflows. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 system configuration emphasized client lifecycle management, with routine client administration tasks and structured system refreshes to Sandbox, Development, QA, and Training environments to support development and testing cycles.
Operational architecture for SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was managed within PG&E IT, with SAP Basis administration responsibilities covering multi-tier SAP landscapes running on AIX and RedHat and Suse Linux platforms. The environment was designed to integrate with multiple satellite systems and external interfaces, and system builds and upgrades were planned alongside parallel initiatives to establish S4HANA system landscapes as part of ongoing platform evolution.
Governance and operational processes implemented alongside SAP ERP ECC 6.0 included formal change and problem management for software upgrades and patches, defined system health and availability metrics, security audits, backup and recovery procedures aligned to disaster recovery and business continuity objectives, and internal mentoring for SAP Basis administrators to sustain operations and ongoing enhancements.

In 2015, PG&E implemented STARLIMS' Starlims Abbott eScreen to centralize candidate background checks and drug screening workflows. Starlims Abbott eScreen serves as the BackGround Screening solution supporting recruiting across PG&E lines of business, and is used operationally by contract and internal recruiters working from sites such as Concord, California. The deployment prioritized scheduling and management of drug screens and consolidation of screening results to support hiring stage decisions.
The implementation was configured to integrate with PG&E systems explicitly referenced in operational notes, including SAP for HR transactional context, iConnect ATS for requisition and applicant flow, and TreD for testing coordination, enabling data handoffs between applicant tracking, HR, and screening operations. Functional capabilities implemented included candidate intake, drug screen scheduling, receipt and association of screening results and documents within Starlims Abbott eScreen, and process controls for assigning requisitions to recruiting teams. Governance and workflow changes aligned screening status with recruiter activities such as resume reviews, phone screens, interview scheduling, offer issuance, and affirmative action outreach, embedding BackGround Screening status into daily recruiting operations.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Pacific Gas & Electric Company implemented AppWorx Workload Automation from Broadcom as a Business Process Management platform to support Emergency Response Team operations within the Community Wildfire Safety Program. The deployment occurred in a multi-team war room environment during the Accelerated Wildfire Risk Reduction project and targeted vegetation management workflows used by more than 2,000 field-users and several back-office users.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to drive scheduled job orchestration and timed processes, with UC4 jobs explicitly used to schedule recurring tasks. The implementation included automation of Python scripts for data processing and setup, and script-driven deployment processes that provisioned operational artifacts on a cadence defined by the incident command and support teams.
The project integrated AppWorx with the ArcGIS Online Portal environment and related web applications, moving web apps, web maps, hosted feature layers, and hosted feature views into the operational footprint. Work included creation of database views for reporting, creation and lifecycle management of portal users and groups, and deployment of more than 300 hosted feature layer views to enforce restricted visibility and edit rights tied to circuit level access.
Governance and operational handoffs were formalized through portal user and groups management, coordination with the AWRR support team for end-user issue resolution, and engagement with ESRI on project consultants to address deployment roadblocks. The implementation emphasized workflow automation and role based access control within vegetation management, incident command dashboards, customer engagement, environmental users, and land operations without asserting quantitative outcomes.
