Emburse Legacy Emburse Invoice Enterprise AP Automation ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016 Paul Hastings implemented Emburse Invoice Enterprise to centralize and automate its accounts payable operations. The deployment targeted AP Automation across corporate finance, accounts payable, and treasury functions at the United States headquartered professional services firm with approximately 2,900 employees and a global client footprint. The Emburse Invoice Enterprise implementation focused on core AP Automation capabilities, including electronic invoice capture and vendor invoice imaging, automated invoice coding and validation, configurable approval workflows, exception routing, and payment preparation workflows such as check run staging and electronic payment pre-processing. Emburse Invoice Enterprise was configured to support vendor data management tasks that align with maintaining W 9 and W 8 documentation and to standardize invoice coding practices that previously involved manual entry. Deployment was executed alongside existing expense and accounting tools that the finance organization used for transactional controls, notably expense auditing tools such as Chrome River and the firm s Elite Enterprise 3.2 accounting software for general ledger reconciliation. The implementation oriented invoice processing to feed structured posting data into the firm s accounting and reconciliation processes, while expense report auditing and reimbursements continued to be handled through established expense workflows. Governance changes included formalizing AP workflows, documenting onboarding and training materials for AP staff and temporary hires, and institutionalizing vendor statement reconciliation and payable discrepancy research procedures. Operational ownership rested with accounts payable coordinators and finance managers who maintained vendor compliance, supported 1099 remittance processes, and conducted periodic internal audits to reconcile sub ledgers to the general ledger.

Integrations included custom-built Workday Studio integrations and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into Prism to support stakeholder reporting and analytics requirements. Operational coverage extended to Talent Management, HRIS, Diversity and Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility stakeholders, supporting the firm’s global HR community across its international offices. Governance and operational processes were run through the firm’s HRIS enablement function, with the TMS Enablement Analyst role performing requirements gathering, impact analysis, configuration, testing script development, and release readiness. The team maintained Workday feature release monitoring, change control for absence and leave workflows, and ongoing configuration and reporting maintenance to support firmwide leave administration.
