Functional modules implemented include an advanced IPS detection engine with a mature signature database, policy based routing, and NAT application level gateway capabilities to support FTP and SIP application behavior and complex routing scenarios, while interface configuration enforces symmetric return path handling for incoming public traffic.
Governance and operational resilience were configured through policy based routing that automatically disables affected policies upon link failure and shifts traffic to alternative links, reducing manual failover. The solution also supports IPv6 transition, simplifies security management, and according to the project documentation increases both outgoing and incoming traffic speeds, enhances user experience, and enables broader sharing of university resources with external networks.
