| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Petmate implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial solution. Petmate made the decision to upgrade to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 in January 2012 to gain access to newer Oracle functionality that would support growth and ongoing operations across finance and supply chain functions.
The implementation covered core Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 configuration for financial management and extended operational capabilities to support supply chain and fulfillment workflows. The project used impact analysis tooling to drive targeted code corrections, enabling the team to prioritize objects that would break and to apply focused remediation rather than broad code rewrites.
Integration and operational coverage included electronic data interchange EDI support and staged Conference Room Pilots to validate business processes and interfaces. The program executed a phased testing cadence with three Conference Room Pilots in July, August, and September 2012, supported by offshore development for code fixes and by a functional consulting partner for conference room pilots and EDI facilitation.
Governance and rollout decisions emphasized impact analysis led remediation and a conservative go-live window to reduce business disruption, with the team electing to go live over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2012. Post go-live metrics captured during the project reported that the impact analysis tool identified at least 95 percent of objects needing correction, and the code correction effort realized a reduction of 626 hours and a 50 percent decrease in consulting costs, representing a consulting savings of $124,000. Oracle E-Business Suite provides Petmate with a centralized ERP Financial platform to support finance, operations, and ongoing acquisition driven growth.

The deployment emphasizes a cloud-native, API-first commerce model consistent with Oracle Commerce Cloud, consolidating storefront rendering and customer-facing commerce services under a single SaaS platform.
