| OpenText | Legacy | OpenText Vendor Invoice Management | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Petroleum Development Oman implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management as part of an AP Automation program to rationalize invoice handling across procurement and finance. The work coincided with deployment of SAP Fieldglass Contingent Workforce Management and integration with SAP ERP, and PDO selected the ASAPIO Integration Add-on for SAP Fieldglass to orchestrate invoice and contractor data flows.
OpenText Vendor Invoice Management was configured to provide core AP Automation capabilities, including invoice capture and validation, automated matching against purchase orders and contracts, workflow routing for approval, and posting to SAP ERP. The configuration emphasized handling both standard vendor invoices and contractor-related invoices originating from SAP Fieldglass Contingent Workforce Management, aligning invoice processing rules to existing procurement controls.
Integrations were a primary focus, the implementation linked OpenText Vendor Invoice Management directly to SAP ERP and to SAP Fieldglass via the ASAPIO Integration Add-on for SAP Fieldglass, ensuring end to end handoff of contractor sourcing, requisition and invoice metadata. Operational coverage included accounts payable, procurement and finance functions within Petroleum Development Oman, with the integration designed to preserve procurement process integrity while enabling automated invoice orchestration.
Governance for the deployment centered on process mapping between procurement, contingent workforce management and AP workflows, and on establishing approval routing and exception handling inside OpenText Vendor Invoice Management. The project narrative emphasizes the integration architecture and functional alignment as the means to unify vendor invoice processing under the AP Automation program.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP Fieldglass | Contingent Labor Management | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Petroleum Development Oman implemented SAP Fieldglass for Contingent Labor Management to centralize the management of contractors and external workers. The program explicitly targeted seamless interoperability with existing SAP ERP procurement processes and selected an integration add-on to orchestrate transactional flows between contingent workforce records and procurement systems.
Products in scope included SAP Fieldglass Contingent Workforce Management, SAP Vendor Invoice Management by OpenText, SAP ERP, and the ASAPIO Integration Add-on for SAP Fieldglass. Implementation activity focused on configuring contingent workforce lifecycle capabilities typical of Contingent Labor Management, including supplier and worker data synchronization, requisition and job posting workflows, timesheet capture, and invoice handoff into vendor invoice processing.
The integration architecture relied on the ASAPIO Integration Add-on to map Fieldglass engagement records into SAP ERP procurement master data and purchase order objects, and to forward timesheet and invoice triggers into SAP Vendor Invoice Management by OpenText. This integration layer served as the orchestration point to maintain transactional alignment between contractor engagements in SAP Fieldglass and procurement and finance processes in SAP ERP.
Operational scope included procurement, finance, and contingent workforce administration functions at Petroleum Development Oman, aligning contractor lifecycle management with accounts payable and procurement workflows. Governance emphasis was placed on aligning Fieldglass workflow configuration with existing SAP ERP procurement procedures, using the ASAPIO integration solution to enforce data consistency and process orchestration between systems.

| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo Application Suite | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018, Petroleum Development Oman implemented IBM Maximo Application Suite as a cloud-based Enterprise Asset Management platform to centralize facilities and real estate workflows. The deployment was delivered with Carillion Alawi and initially focused on core corrective maintenance and planned maintenance processes while providing a single reporting environment for more than 60,000 maintainable assets.
The implementation covered CAFM and real estate business processes, maintenance management, online management of linear assets, Internet of Things device monitoring, mobility and a customer portal, with the full product name IBM Maximo Application Suite used throughout. Maximo Anywhere software underpinned a customer portal and Android app that allowed users to access the CAFM environment from mobile devices, and the solution incorporated standard asset register, work order, scheduling and reporting capabilities common to Enterprise Asset Management platforms.
Operational coverage extended across 12 PDO sites and supported facilities functions including hard maintenance, environmental services, catering and cleaning, with the IFM team as a primary business stakeholder. The core cloud instance was already instrumented for IoT and mobile access, and PDO expanded scope to inventory and stock control in a subsequent phase, engaging IBM Business Partner Praxis Solutions to implement procurement and inventory workflows.
Governance and process transformation focused on replacing manual approval chains and paper-driven procurement used by IFM, which had involved approval cycles of around 45 days and annual consumption of over 70,000 sheets of paper. With the core system launched in late 2018, PDO prioritized rollout of integrated modules and inventory controls to streamline approvals and formalize maintenance and facilities management workflows within IBM Maximo Application Suite.
