In 2010 Pharmascience implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial system. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was deployed to centralize core finance and accounting processes and to provide a statutory reporting and transaction backbone for the organization.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation focused on finance and controlling capabilities typical of an ERP Financial deployment, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost center accounting. Configuration work emphasized financial master data stabilization, chart of accounts alignment, period close workflows, and integration points for operational ledgers. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instance was positioned as the authoritative system for transactional finance and financial reporting across Pharmascience.
In April 2018 to August 2018 Pharmascience executed a BW on HANA upgrade and migration, moving its BW environment from version 7.3 on SQL to BW 7.5 on HANA running on a Power8 server. The upgrade and migration were completed with a Technical Lead working directly with a Basis consultant to perform platform conversion, system copy activities, and HANA-specific tuning. This work involved replatforming BW to exploit in-memory processing while preserving existing ETL and reporting models.
Operational ownership for the ERP Financial environment and the BW on HANA platform resided with the corporate IT and finance teams, with the Basis team handling platform-level change and coordination. Governance changes included tightened deployment coordination between finance functional leads and IT for period close windows and BW refresh schedules. The program emphasized controlled cutover sequencing and technical validation steps during the BW migration period to maintain reporting continuity.
