Emburse Legacy Emburse Enterprise Expense Management ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine implemented Emburse Enterprise as its Expense Management application. The deployment targeted expense reporting, purchasing card administration and travel expense workflows within a decentralized purchasing structure that supports three campuses and four healthcare clinics across Pennsylvania and Georgia. Emburse Enterprise was configured to manage electronic expense reporting, P-Card controls and approval workflows, and to enforce purchasing policies consistent with the college's Financial Policies and Procedures Manual. Configuration work included program administration for 147 cardholders, automated P-Card audit workflows, approval routing to support the Director of Financial Operations and Chief Financial Officer, and templates for travel and reimbursement workflows aligned to institutional policy. The implementation was articulated to operate alongside existing procurement and ERP tooling in use by the college, including Unimarket eProcurement and Chrome River automated expense capabilities, and to interoperate with campus systems for financial posting. The team maintained the Purchasing and Finance tables within the Ellucian Banner system, and the Emburse Enterprise implementation was architected to exchange transactional and approval metadata with Banner purchasing and financial records while coordinating with Accounts Payable and the DEEM travel web solution administered with Direct Travel. Operational rollout emphasized site-level training and governance, with the Purchasing Manager delivering on-site procurement and application training to more than 100 staff members across campus and clinic sites. Governance activities included ongoing P-Card program administration, vendor negotiation and supplier onboarding collaboration with the Chief Diversity Officer for disadvantaged business initiatives, requisition review and purchase order approval workflows, and KPI reporting to Financial Operations leadership.
