| Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics AX | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 PlayCore migrated from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, adopting the application as the company's core ERP Financial system. The implementation emphasized consolidation of financial and operational processes into Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations across multiple legal entities managed inside the application.
The implementation included functional configuration and training across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Procurement and Sourcing, Sales and Marketing, General Ledger, Project Management and Accounting, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Product Information and Management, and HR modules. Teams configured main accounts, financial dimensions, account structures and advanced rules, and set up cost prices, trade agreements and customer aging snapshots, while establishing centralized payments and approval workflows for purchase orders and purchase requisitions.
Technical and deployment work targeted Dev, Test and Production environments with structured code movements and release controls. Data migration and data movement were extensive, using DIXF and custom data movement processes to move records between companies and from external systems into Dynamics AX and then into Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. Integrations were delivered by designing and building a bridge between AX and external applications, with customizations developed in X plus plus and reviewed using Visual Studio, SQL Server and SSRS tooling, supplemented by ATLAS for reporting overlays.
Delivery and governance included recurring architecture and manager level meetings to gather requirements, prepare technical and functional design documents, and coordinate offshore development and code reviews. User enablement was a formal part of the rollout, with training provided on Dynamics AX 2012 functional behavior and on Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations capabilities, creation of security roles to reduce process discrepancies, testing after legal entity creation, and an upgrade path documented from AX 2012 and AX 2012 R2 including the move to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
