In 2012, Pottinger implemented Siemens Teamcenter as its Product Lifecycle Management platform to centralize product definition and lifecycle processes for agricultural machinery. Siemens Teamcenter was deployed to support engineering and product development, establishing a single Product Lifecycle Management repository for CAD, BOM and change artifacts.
The implementation configured core Teamcenter functional modules including product data management, bill of materials management, change control and CAD data integration to align with heavy equipment development workflows. Teamcenter Gateway for SAP/ S/4HANA was used to synchronize BOM and master data between PLM and ERP, and standard approval and workflow automation were configured to reduce manual handoffs.
ACAM Systemautomation acted as the SI/VAR on the project, implementing the Siemens Teamcenter integration with SAP S/4HANA and configuring workflows for engineering, manufacturing and service teams based at the Grieskirchen headquarters in Austria. The deployment scope emphasized product development and manufacturing operations for tractor-mounted and trailed implements, with the Teamcenter Gateway for SAP/ S/4HANA providing the primary system-to-system linkage.
Governance was restructured around PLM-centric data stewardship and standardized change approval processes to support cross-functional decision-making. The deployment of Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management improved decision-making, reduced errors and improved hit rate as reported by Pottinger, while ACAM Systemautomation supported rollout and adoption.
