In 2018, Primark implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday People Systems program. Primark Workday Absence Management addresses core absence workflows within the Absence and Leave Management category and was delivered under a centralized HRIS program led from Primark Stores Limited Head Office in County Dublin, Ireland.
The implementation included configuration, validation and iterative testing of absence rules, leave entitlements and security policies, with functional specification authoring for configuration, enhancements, interfaces and reports. Workday Absence Management was delivered alongside Core HCM, Compensation and Benefits, Talent and Performance Management, Talent Acquisition and Security as coordinated People Systems modules to ensure consistent data and policy alignment across HR functions.
Integration teams were engaged to document end to end processes and to execute integration testing, supporting interfaces and report delivery for operational teams. Rollout scope explicitly covered country deployments with full implementation life cycles completed in the Netherlands, Slovenia, Poland and the Czech Republic, with Austria and Belgium ongoing, reflecting a regional European operational coverage from the Dublin head office.
Governance and operationalization were formalized through People Systems functional policies and procedures, partnership with the Service Delivery Team for BAU and post implementation issue management, and development of training materials and user support. The program emphasized solution design workshops, system testing and coordinated cross functional handoffs to establish ongoing absence administration and change request management for HR and People Operations.

In 2009, Primark implemented IFS Enterprise Upstream (formerly P2 Enterprise Upstream) as its Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP. The deployment positioned IFS Enterprise Upstream to provide upstream-oriented enterprise resource planning capabilities within the companys operational toolkit, aligning ERP functions with asset intensive operational workflows.
Configuration emphasized core Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP modules, including fixed asset and equipment registers, maintenance and work order management, materials and procurement controls, production accounting, and integrated financial ledgers. IFS Enterprise Upstream was structured to support preventive maintenance scheduling, work order lifecycle orchestration, inventory reservation and replenishment, and production reporting consistent with industry ERP functional patterns.
The implementation included integration with workforce management tooling, with Primark using Kronos Workforce Central on their website and time and attendance feeds incorporated into ERP processes for labor accounting and scheduling reconciliation. Interfaces were organized to exchange personnel time data and basic workforce costing information between Kronos Workforce Central and IFS Enterprise Upstream to maintain alignment between operational work orders and labor records.
Governance centered on centralized maintenance planning and procurement workflows, role based access controls, and formalized approval gates for work orders and purchase transactions. Rollout followed phased module activation and governance handoffs to operational teams, embedding new maintenance and procurement process standards into existing operational practices.
