Oracle SAP Business One Oracle NetSuite ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2014 2015
In 2014, Qumu Corporation implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to replace SAP Business One after selling its disc publishing assets and related ERP. The engagement centralized core financial systems for a publicly traded enterprise video content management company, with the Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment scoped to support corporate and acquired subsidiary accounting operations. The Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation focused on ERP Financial capabilities, targeting accounting, transaction processing, and forms-driven transaction entry. Configuration work included development of dynamic, subsidiary specific forms using SuiteScript, Advanced PDF/HTML layouts, and FreeMarker to simplify interfaces and keep transaction load time efficient. These configuration choices were applied within the NetSuite OneWorld architecture to support multi-subsidiary bookkeeping and localized data capture. Integration and operational coverage extended beyond the ERP instance, a bidirectional integration was developed between Salesforce and NetSuite using Dell Boomi to synchronize customer and order data across sales and finance. The implementation timeline staged subsidiary go lives, Kulu Valley went live on NetSuite in October 2015, followed by remaining subsidiaries on the OneWorld instance in April 2016, aligning the acquired entities onto a single ERP Financial platform. Operational governance and rollout execution shifted during cutover when implementation consultants and the project manager departed before go live, necessitating internal coordination of all system configuration and training initiatives. During the post implementation review, the project team worked with Accounting and SOX compliance consultants to document and address control gaps, and accounting processes and audits became more reliant on systems as part of the governance response.
