In 2012, RAC engaged a three month ERP Implementation Manager contract to deliver a major Agresso Upgrade using Unit4 Business World, classified as ERP Financial, as part of its Finance Separation programme from Aviva. The engagement was scoped to enable RAC finance teams to operate independently, with responsibilities that included creation and management of the implementation plan and coordination of internal and third party technical resources to define and deliver implementation prerequisites.
The upgrade work centered on Unit4 Business World configuration and cutover activities for ERP Financial capabilities typical of large finance deployments, including financial ledgers, transaction posting controls, reconciliation workflows, and the sequencing of data migration and configuration changes. The implementation manager coordinated technical tasks and multi-team activity during the upgrade weekend, orchestrating application versioning, data migration steps, and staged enablement of financial processing to limit disruption to finance operations.
Following go live the role acted as warranty support manager for a six week warranty period, triaging escalations and managing high priority incidents while supporting the project team. Governance and transition responsibilities encompassed managing escalation paths with technical teams and third party resources, resolving incidents and requests, and formally handing over remaining items into RAC BAU support to stabilize Unit4 Business World in ongoing finance operations.

Governance was implemented through recruiter user roles, staged candidate statuses, and data handling controls to standardize screening and interview workflows, with HR talent acquisition retaining operational ownership of the system.

Qgate led rollout governance and change activities, instituting intake and approval workflows, chargeability rules, and stakeholder training for project managers and finance users. The implementation aimed to maximise project impacts by standardizing controls and increasing transparency across project delivery and commercial operations, positioning Unit4 PSA Suite as the central system for professional services planning and execution.
