TOTVS Legacy TOTVS Microsiga Protheus ERP Financial ERP n/a 2005 2005
In 2005, Radio e Televisao Bandeirantes S/A implemented TOTVS Microsiga Protheus as its ERP Financial backbone for finance and accounting operations. The deployment of TOTVS Microsiga Protheus was scoped to the corporate finance organization within the Brazil broadcast and media group of approximately 4,400 employees and 200,000,000 in revenue. The implementation positioned the application as the central transactional system for financial recordkeeping and control. Configuration work focused on core ERP Financial capabilities typical of the category, including chart of accounts design, general ledger processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, fixed asset management, cash management and period close automation. The project included setup of financial reporting structures and authorization controls to support accounting, treasury and budgeting processes. Customization efforts emphasized aligning system ledgers and fiscal calendars with the company's accounting policies. To support the new methods of working, the project created policies, procedures and criteria tailored to the TOTVS Microsiga Protheus implementation, defining approval matrices, month end close steps and roles and responsibilities across finance and accounting. Governance work included formalizing workflows, change control for financial master data and operational procedures for transactional processing. Training materials and process documentation were prepared to embed the ERP Financial procedures into routine operations.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (AI) Cognitive Computing AI-Powered Application n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Radio e Televisao Bandeirantes S/A implemented Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (AI) to introduce an internal newsroom bot, a deployment categorized as Cognitive Computing. The initiative responded to recurrent, common support requests reported by newsroom collaborators, and the project manager convened the Band Portal team to design an automated assistive agent named Zé Maria to reduce repetitive manual inquiry handling. The implementation followed a two stage development approach, beginning with an initial integration inside REC, the broadcaster’s internal media management system, where a basic FAQ workflow was automated. Subsequent work extended the bot’s operational surface to Skype, enabling conversational access across the team’s communication channel. Functional capabilities implemented were consistent with Cognitive Computing use cases, including natural language question parsing, FAQ automation, and intent-driven response routing to support media management workflows. Architecturally Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (AI) provided the cloud AI layer that hosted the bot logic and natural language processing, with connectors to REC and Skype to surface responses within existing newsroom tools. Operational scope was explicitly newsroom and media operations, where the bot handled recurring information requests and guided users through standard procedures in REC. Governance was team-led, driven by the Band Portal project manager and the newsroom team, with staged rollout from REC to Skype to align automation with common demand patterns.
