In 2018, RCD Espanyol implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize and accelerate financial reporting following the club's acquisition by Rastar Group. More than 4,000 paper invoices a year were digitized and financial data was unified to support automated report generation and on demand analytics.
Governance changes accompanied the technical deployment, with new approval workflows and automated accounting entries to eliminate redundant manual processes and tighten controls over billing and payments. Rollout emphasized standardized chart of accounts and reporting templates to ensure consistency across football operations, commercial activities and investor reporting.
The club reported explicit operational outcomes from the Oracle Cloud ERP implementation, including a 50% reduction in reporting time, an 80% reduction in payment processing times through invoice digitization and automated payments, a greater than 25% reduction in errors in reporting expenses and invoicing, and a 100% improvement in billing cycle time by automating manual tasks.
