Configuration focused on core financial modules and close automation, including structured month end reporting workflows, production of the month P&L, balance sheet reconciliations for UK Nationals, and reconciliation and approval of monthly payroll for circa 500 employees. The team was responsible for preparation and review of month end commentary on significant costs, weekly budget reporting for board analysis, and preparation of budgets in excess of £150 million followed by input into SAP BPC. Microsoft Dynamics NAV was operated alongside SAP BPC and the implementation included a workflow for feeding month end results into SAP BPC for budgeting and consolidation. Operational coverage extended across finance, accounts payable, credit control and finance directors, with regular liaison to non financial managers and business support to resolve queries and provide variance analysis. Governance and process ownership included management of the finance team with annual reviews, supervision, recruitment participation and approval of work, plus overall responsibility for the UK Nationals balance sheet. A targeted process improvement project streamlined the process of inputting month end results into SAP BPC, creating efficiencies and saving a substantial amount of time during the month end process, while maintaining high quality cost reporting to strict deadlines.
