| MiTek | Legacy | MiTek Buildsoft Cubit Estimating | Construction Estimating | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Red Energy deployed MiTek Buildsoft Cubit Estimating to support Construction Estimating for civil estimating of gas and utilities infrastructure projects. The implementation focused on Melbourne VIC operations with project work extending across Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia for subdivision and street allocation programs.
The deployment used MiTek Buildsoft Cubit Estimating to generate bill of quantities deliverables and to produce earthwork BOQ outputs, with pricing workflows executed through Buildsoft and other internal company software. Functional capability emphasis included estimate preparation, consolidation of subdivision plans and drawings from architectural and civil teams, and preparation of progress of works charts for subcontractor coordination.
Operational integrations explicitly included Buildsoft pricing workflows and nonproprietary internal company systems for cost capture, plus administrative interfaces for issuing work orders to external authorities. The role required liaison with subcontractors such as Comdain Infrastructure Downer, and engagement with local councils across VIC NSW SA for street allocation and subdivision plan approvals, as well as raising work orders to network authorities Ausnet and Multinet.
Governance and process changes centered on consolidation of subdivision and relevant plans to ensure correct work orders were raised to subcontractors, coordination of laying and demolition activities, and a structured program of reactive and proactive infrastructure inspections. The MiTek Buildsoft Cubit Estimating deployment therefore served as the core estimating and work‑order orchestration tool for Red Energy civil estimating, project coordination and inspection administration.
