In 2017 RegioBank deployed the Ohpen Core Banking Engine to manage retail investment services as part of its Core Banking stack. The implementation used Ohpen’s sophisticated API to surface a goal based investment proposition into de Volksbank’s banking environment, enabling centralized handling of investment functionality across the group. The Ohpen Core Banking Engine manages all investment processes, from opening and maintenance of investment accounts, to order execution and portfolio management, as the core processing layer for those workflows.
Functional configuration emphasized investment account lifecycle and transaction orchestration, with account opening and maintenance flows, order execution engines, and portfolio management modules operating inside Ohpen’s core platform. The deployment exposed an API driven integration layer that allowed multiple internet banking front ends to invoke core investment services, preserving front end differentiation while centralizing business logic. The full application name Ohpen Core Banking Engine is the centralized processing layer for these investment workflows.
Integrations were explicitly with the internet banking environments of ASN Bank, BLG Wonen, RegioBank and SNS, and the implementation was surfaced into the broader de Volksbank environment via Ohpen’s APIs. Business functions impacted included retail investment servicing, order processing, portfolio administration, and customer account operations. Governance and operational control shifted toward centralized investment process orchestration within the Ohpen Core Banking platform and standardization of integration contracts through the Ohpen API.
