In 2018, Relypsa implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial platform, deploying Oracle Financials along with Purchasing and iProcurement from its Los Angeles, CA site. The engagement was executed as an Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials R20A implementation covering core finance and procurement to support the biopharmaceutical companys accounting and stakeholder interactions.
The deployment included configuration of General Ledger, Intercompany Accounting, Payables, Receivables, Payments, Cash Management, Tax, Expenses, Assets and Sub Ledger Accounting. Oracle Cloud ERP General Ledger workstreams established primary and secondary ledgers, cross validation and security rules, translation and revaluation processes. The Tax module was configured for both US and EMEA tax regimes with tax rates, tax codes and regime to rate flows defined. Expense management was configured end to end, including Payables lookup types for i-Expense, credit card expense type mapping, P-Card functionality, expense reporting templates for connected and disconnected reporting, multi-currency setup, itemization, expense clearing accounts and employee vendor provisioning for expense access and signing limits.
Revenue and receivables configuration addressed revenue recognition and collections workflows through Oracle Accounts Receivable and Advance Collections. The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation defined revenue recognition rules for accounting and invoicing, supported event based and rule based recognition, and implemented a customer acceptance process and revenue distribution feeds for external reporting. Receivables setups also included dunning letter configurations, statement cycle definitions and the advance collections engine with collector work queues, scoring components, strategies and delinquency data models.
Project governance and cutover activities were documented and executed through BR100, MD050, TE40, TE50 artifacts and CRP execution, with coordinated validation of Oracle Apps custom designs and integrations with existing applications. The delivery included user training, ongoing technical and functional support for users testers and business system analysts, and end to end validation of integration touchpoints between Oracle applications and the organizations other systems.
