In 2023, Ricoh implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud and adopted RISE with SAP as part of SAP’s Asia Pacific and Japan cloud customer wins. The initiative targets ERP Financial capability for Ricoh Co., with an explicit focus on centralizing financial operations and standardizing accounting practices across the organization.
SAP S/4HANA Cloud was configured to deliver core finance functionality including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, cash and treasury management, period close orchestration, and embedded real-time financial reporting and analytics. Configuration workstreams emphasized master data governance, chart of accounts harmonization, intercompany accounting rules, and automation of recurring finance processes to reduce manual reconciliation and accelerate period close cycles.
The deployment leverages RISE with SAP cloud delivery to consolidate application lifecycle management, software updates, and cloud hosting under a unified operating model, aligning finance and controllership organizations across Ricoh’s APJ footprint. Governance and process changes centered on centralized process ownership, standardized financial controls, and consistent reporting, positioning Ricoh to adopt continuous innovation within the SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP Financial environment.

| Mercer | Legacy | Mercer Darwin Benefits (formerly Thomsons Online Benefits) | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Ricoh implemented Mercer Darwin Benefits (formerly Thomsons Online Benefits) under the Benefits Administration category as part of a structured employee rewards communications program. The engagement built on Mercer Impact team involvement since 2015 and positioned Mercer Darwin Benefits as the central benefits administration platform for targeted engagement activity.
The implementation combined platform-led enrollment capability with a communications stack that included a Benefit Explorer website, a Benefit Guide, Benefit Snapshot mobile guide, and creative elements labeled Maltese Cross. Campaign design emphasized clear and concise benefit information, strong calls to action, life event based microsite content, and behavioural techniques such as people like me and peer influence to increase uptake during the benefit selection window and a second midsummer campaign.
Operationally the work focused on HR reward and internal communications functions, with messaging shaped by employee feedback and engagement data to reach hard to reach employee segments and discrete business units. Mercer Darwin Benefits was used as the conduit for enrollment and information, while communications and microsite assets were iteratively refreshed twice, with campaign cadence maintained two times per year.
Governance was iterative and measurement driven, teams reviewed progress and rebuilt materials based on prior results, including two brand refreshes. The results cited include an engagement jump from 5% to 83% in one part of the business in the first year of Mercer-led communications, and sustained engagement with benefits and the Darwin platform between 71% and 80% in subsequent periods, with peak engagement when the benefits brand was aligned to Ricoh’s Employee Value Proposition.
