In 2023, Ridge and Partners implemented Autodesk Microdrainage within its civil engineering discipline. Autodesk Microdrainage was provisioned as a 3D Modeling application to support drainage modelling and to align deliverables with ongoing Civil 3D and InfoDrainage workstreams. The implementation emphasized model authoring and three dimensional drainage model validation, with Autodesk Microdrainage used to produce and verify drainage network models and design deliverables. Workflows were configured to coordinate outputs between Autodesk Microdrainage, Civil 3D and InfoDrainage, enabling a consistent modelling pipeline for sewer and surface water assets across projects. Governance and rollout were anchored by a designated lead quality control role for Civil 3D, Autodesk Microdrainage and InfoDrainage, supported by resourcing schedules and programmes across multiple projects to manage workload and team wellbeing. Training and capability building featured two four day Civil 3D workshops delivered to senior and junior members across all offices of the Civil Engineering discipline.
