| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Rockport implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to standardize core finance and operational processes across its multi-brand retail footprint. Sapours adopted a Big Bang approach that mapped requirements across the USA and Canada to deliver a simplified user interface for internal and external stakeholders, to enable field sales to place orders on behalf of customers, and to provide a unified buying experience across geographies. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment formed the ERP Financial backbone that linked commerce, order management and retail workflows into a single operational platform.
The implementation configured SAP ECC modules including SAP SD, SAP MM and SAP FICO alongside technical stacks such as SAP Basis, SAP FIORI, EDI, BODS and ABAP, and supported commerce and marketing capabilities via Hybris Marketing and Commerce components. Functional capabilities delivered included end to end Asynchronous Order Management AOM, retail pack OAA, and the Assisted Sales Module ASM workflow for sales teams, together with virtual showroom functionality to view and book upcoming season designs. Hybris v6.00 was powered by an underlying HANA database platform to improve transactional responsiveness and to surface personalized views for customers and sales users.
Interoperability was achieved through extended integrations, including SAP Hybris and SAP FMS connected via a data hub accelerator for migration, integration between SAP Hybris and Open Text for digital asset management, and SAP Hybris integration with the PLM system for product data enrichment. The solution also integrated with supporting systems such as ERP finance and logistics modules, CRM, payment gateways and POS platforms, and coordinated with external vendors for hosting and batch scheduling. Operational coverage included cross-continental support and on-call application support across Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific time zones including USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea and India.
Governance followed a coordinated Big Bang rollout executed over an eight month program, with Sapours managing transition activities, cutover planning and cross-vendor coordination. Reported benefits from the program included a robust and unified buying UI implemented across geographies, enabled virtual showroom pages for multi-brand booking, real-time customer feedback and inventory status, and personalized views for customers and sales teams. The engagement extended into ongoing upgrades, migrations and support work, including a rapid migration of SAP Hybris B2B from Version 6.0 to Version 1808 completed in two weeks using a fashion industry specific accelerator and subsequent stack patching and S4 HANA related work.

The implementation covered core HR process ownership for corporate and retail departments, creating a single source of truth for personnel data, review records, and document retention. Governance emphasized HR-driven record filing and review upload procedures, with operational handoffs to payroll and legal for administrative and compliance activities.

The solution integrated with enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM, payment gateways and multiple POS solutions, and was supported by an exhaustive SAP application stack including SAP ECC modules for SD, MM and FICO, SAP Fiori, EDI, BODS, ABAP, Commerce components and Hybris Marketing to deliver a 360-degree platform experience.
Governance and rollout controls included an eight month execution program and a structured transition methodology to coordinate external vendors such as IBM for hosting, RMJ for scheduling, POS vendors APTOS and WebTOS, and bank interfaces. Post go-live workstreams included a rapid migration path where Sapours upgraded Hybris from B2B version 6.0 to version 1808 and applied component patches including virtual showroom sites and S/4 HANA related work in a two week cutover using a fashion industry accelerator, combined with on-call support across Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific time zones.
Documented outcomes from the engagement included a robust and unified buying UI implemented across geographies for sales teams and customers, enabled virtual showroom pages across brands, real-time customer feedback and inventory status, and personalized views for customers and sales teams. The program improved customer experience by leveraging SAP Hybris together with SAP FMS within the Retail Management deployment of SAP Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS).
