Operationally Ascender Preceda co-existed with SUN financial systems, with hotel accounting teams using SUN for general ledger journals, bank reconciliations, BAS preparation and month-end balance sheet and P&L reporting. Role-level responsibilities recorded for an Assistant Accountant at Rydges Sydney Harbour during January 2020 to April 2020 included assisting with Ascender Preceda system setup for payroll and accounting, performing weekly payroll, preparing monthly BAS and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and cash flow processes, illustrating close operational coupling between HR payroll and finance at the hotel level.
Governance and rollout were executed with hotel finance oversight, the Assistant Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller during the hotel opening, and a focus on standardizing processes and procedures.
