In 2002, SaddleTech deployed Oracle NetSuite Commerce to establish a managed online storefront and transactional platform. The Oracle NetSuite Commerce implementation targeted eCommerce operations for the Canadian retail business, supporting product catalog, shopping cart, checkout, and customer account workflows.
The implementation configured core eCommerce modules including catalog management, product information management, pricing and promotions, shopping cart and checkout, order management, and basic inventory visibility. The deployment emphasized web storefront content management and customer self service capabilities consistent with a small retailer environment. SaddleTech used Oracle NetSuite Commerce to centralize merchandising, sales, and customer service functions within a single commerce application.
Architecturally the solution was provisioned as a hosted commerce platform, leveraging built in connector patterns typical of Oracle NetSuite Commerce for synchronization of orders and product data. The platform design supported standard commerce integration points for payment processing, fulfillment orchestration, tax calculation, and downstream accounting or inventory systems without naming specific back office products. Operational coverage focused on online sales and order processing across SaddleTech's Canada market.
Governance was oriented around catalog publishing workflows, role based access for merchandising and customer service, and an order to cash workflow to manage order routing and fulfillment. Configuration governance and content update processes were instituted to manage product lifecycle and promotional campaigns within Oracle NetSuite Commerce.
