NetActuate Legacy NetActuate DDoS Mitigation DDoS Protection CyberSecurity n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, SafeDNS began a transition to NetActuate DDoS Mitigation, beginning with a proof of concept in early 2023 that evaluated NetActuate in the context of their prior use of Vultr. The project targeted SafeDNS's DNS and security use case and was scoped to improve performance and operational control across its global footprint. NetActuate DDoS Mitigation is identified as part of the DDoS Protection category and the narrative centers on network routing and security platform capabilities. The implementation leveraged NetActuate’s Anycast routing and network optimization as core architectural elements, deploying distributed edge routing to reduce latency and increase reliability. Functional capabilities implemented included Anycast traffic distribution, BGP-based routing controls, peering and network optimization, and the vendor security stack that provides automated DDoS mitigation functions. These modules were configured to support DNS service delivery and to give SafeDNS network engineering teams centralized traffic steering and operational controls. Operationally the rollout began with the POC in early 2023 and proceeded as a staged transition to the NetActuate Anycast platform, extending control across SafeDNS’s global sites. NetActuate provided Anycast routing and network optimization that improved latency, reliability, and operational control across SafeDNS’s global footprint. Use of NetActuate DDoS Mitigation aligns with DDoS Protection practices because the Anycast platform and accompanying security stack deliver automated mitigation capabilities alongside routing and performance improvements.
