In 2013, Sainsbury's Bank implemented Fiserv Prologue as an ERP Financial application to support procurement segregation, business continuity management, and risk management activities required for a termination of a joint venture. The engagement was delivered from an interim role reporting to the Change Programme Director and included a portfolio of projects operating under a PRINCE2 governance model to move capabilities into Business As Usual.
The program included a full life cycle RFP for the Fiserv ERP Financial and Risk Management application, covering business requirements definition, vendor selection, vendor pricing evaluation, contractual negotiation, implementation planning, and transition into operational support. Fiserv Prologue was positioned to provide core financial management and risk management capabilities, and delivery workstreams included classroom and E Learning training designed with the software vendor and the Learning and Development function to reinforce culture and adoption.
Operational and migration activities focused on engagement with joint venture project partners and prospective vendors to define solution scope, migration approaches, and business case deliverables. The implementation narrative explicitly encompassed migration planning and cutover sequencing to deliver the application into Business As Usual, without naming specific third party systems integrated.
Governance was formalized through the establishment of a Project Management Office that included a consortium of third parties and client stakeholders, with joint governance structures for programme boards, change boards, change management processes, and programme plans. All projects and governance artifacts were structured to support segregation of procurement and sustained business continuity oversight while enabling programme level decision making.
The program scope connected Sainsbury's Bank, Fiserv Prologue, and ERP Financial business functions across procurement, learning and development, risk and finance, with delivery focused on contractual, training, and operational handover elements required for the joint venture termination and ongoing BAU support.
