In 2020, SaskTel implemented Oracle Cloud ERP to address core ERP Financial requirements for its communications business. The Oracle Cloud ERP deployment was scoped to support SaskTel's finance organization at the company level, covering financial module integrations aligned to general ledger and transactional finance workflows for a company of approximately 3,000 employees.
The implementation centered on Oracle Fusion Financial integration capabilities and used FBDI for bulk data loads and BIP reporting for financial output. The engagement included development of reusable utilities such as an ERP Bulk Loader, a Call Back service, and a Notification Service to standardize data ingestion and asynchronous process handling across financial processes.
Integration architecture relied on Oracle Integration Cloud for orchestration, employing Webservice based interfaces both SOAP and REST, FBDI file imports, an FTP adapter for file transfer, and a cloud database connection to ATP for persistence and lookups. Unit testing was performed using SOAP UI and POSTMAN, and integrations included webservice endpoints and adapter configurations to connect external workflow sources to Oracle ERP Cloud.
Governance and operationalization included a common error handling framework for integrations and reuse patterns to accelerate future integrations, with active support for system integration testing and user acceptance testing phases. The implemented approach emphasized modular integration services and standardized notification and callback mechanisms to reduce integration variance across the ERP Financial footprint.

In 2010, SaskTel implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR application to consolidate HR recordkeeping and employee lifecycle management for its Canada-based workforce of approximately 3,000 employees. The SAP HCM (HR) deployment served as the primary Core HR system supporting Human Resources business functions including benefits administration and job evaluation.
Configuration and functional scope included Personnel Administration PA, Time Management TM, Employee Self-Service ESS and Manager Self-Service MSS, and explicit coverage for Benefits and Pension and Job Evaluation workflows. The implementation of SAP HCM (HR) reflected standard Core HR process orchestration for employee data management, time capture and manager approval flows.
The SAP HCM (HR) instance was integrated within SaskTels broader SAP landscape, interfacing with BW/BI for HR reporting and analytics and connecting to Plant Maintenance CS to provide workforce assignment visibility across technical and field operations. Operational ownership and day to day support involved Information Systems teams in data architecture and systems analysis, Technology teams for access engineering, and Human Resources groups for benefits and job evaluation management, with functional engagement from Engineering and the Corporate Project Management Office.
Governance and rollout were coordinated by the Corporate Project Management Office with IS and HR governance processes established to manage configuration changes, data stewardship, and ESS MSS adoption. The implementation emphasized alignment of HR processes to SAP HCM (HR) modules and governance through formal IS change controls and HR policy integration.
