SAP Legacy SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Saudi Aramco implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial platform to establish a modern digital core for its enterprise resource planning landscape. The program was positioned as the first of 13 ERP systems within Aramco’s ERP Transformation Project and involved over 1,200 employees worldwide from the Kingdom, the US, Europe and Asia during the initial migration activities. The initial functional scope for SAP S/4 HANA centered on finance and logistics, with the first set of business applications moved supporting more than 64,000 employees and contractors across operational and corporate business functions. The SAP S/4 HANA platform was deployed to provide capabilities in mobility, machine learning, advanced analytics and Internet of Things, enabling a broad set of digitalization use cases tied to ERP Financial operations. Architecturally the rollout follows a hybrid strategy comprising System Migration of main ERP systems to an SAP S/4HANA on-premise digital core, System Consolidation to fold specific ERP instances into the Digital Core and reduce application sprawl, and System Migration to Cloud for targeted applications. The approach balances on-premise digital core deployment with selective cloud migration, and the program aimed to complete the 13 system migrations by December 2023. Governance was organized under the ERP Transformation Project with IT leadership directing phased cutovers and cross-regional participation. Saudi Aramco characterized the implementation as a milestone in its digital ambitions and as the largest S/4HANA installation in the region and in the Oil and Gas industry globally, positioning the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial platform to support ongoing digitalization and core business process optimization.

SAP Legacy SAP CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) ERP Services and Operations n/a 2013 2013
In 2013, Saudi Aramco implemented SAP CMMS to centralize maintenance planning and scheduling across refining and petrochemical operations. The deployment targeted the Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) domain and focused on planning and scheduling functions supporting SATORP plant areas under GMS-1, aligning maintenance activities with operations and HSE standards. The SAP CMMS implementation leveraged SAP PM and MM modules to provide work order lifecycle management, preventive maintenance scheduling, corrective maintenance execution, material requisition and PR PO workflows, and repair history tracking. Configured capabilities included multi discipline weekly scheduling, resource loading and leveling, capacity planning, work order backlog management, wrench time analysis, and capture of maintenance KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR. SAP CMMS was integrated with SAP ERP 6.0 for transactional master data and procurement coordination, and with Prometheus Scheduling Tool as well as Primavera and MS Project for schedule orchestration and detailed planning. Operational coverage encompassed maintenance and operations departments within SATORP and targeted static and rotating equipment classes including PSVs, pumps, exchangers, tanks and reactors. Governance and process changes embedded in the rollout included formal review and validation of planned work requests, preliminary priority setting and resource engagement, steering of resource loading to achieve utilization targets, and enforcement of inspection plan driven annual preventive maintenance. The program also institutionalized shutdown planning and execution workflows, weekly multi discipline schedules for GMS 1 areas, and KPI reporting for schedule compliance, backlog, SPI and CPI to support execution and closure discipline.
