The sports analytics team, performance and sports science staff, and marketing teams consumed outputs for match preparation, scouting, training design, and searchable video archives, and a proof of concept completed just weeks before the 2020 MLS playoffs enabled immediate use in competitive match planning. Governance and runbook changes removed routine database administration through autonomous services, and Sounders FC collaborated with Oracle data scientists to accelerate model development and operational handoff. Explicit results from the implementation included the ability to manage 100x more data, generate insights 10x faster, and reduce database management to zero percent, plus cost flexibility from pay-for-use infrastructure while enabling new projects such as pattern detection, computer vision tagging, space creation quantification, and goal threat probability modeling.
