Ansys Inc. Legacy ANSYS SIwave Signal Integrity PLM and Engineering n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Sensors, Energy, and Automation Laboratory implemented ANSYS SIwave for Signal Integrity analysis. The engagement focused on detailed simulation of a Dwenguino development board at a range of frequencies around 10 GHz, exercising board traces to observe high frequency behavior. The team used ANSYS SIwave from Ansys Inc. together with ANSYS HFSS to combine PCB-level signal integrity workflows and three dimensional electromagnetic field solving. Simulations were executed by exciting different traces through different pins, employing frequency sweeps, pin excitation matrices, and extraction of S-parameter style results to characterize transmission line behavior, crosstalk and return path effects at gigahertz frequencies. Deployment was centered in the laboratory engineering and R and D function, where models and test cases were maintained as part of the design verification workflow. Governance emphasized repeatable simulation procedures, structured trace excitation protocols, and iterative model refinement to ensure consistency between SIWave and HFSS results for board level signal integrity analysis.
