In 2008, Merza implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to centralize financial accounting and control for its wholesale and retail operations. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment established the core enterprise financial transaction and reporting backbone that later underpinned a targeted SAP infrastructure modernization initiative led with a specialist partner.
The modernization effort focused on preserving SAP ERP ECC 6.0 financial processes while introducing real-time reporting capabilities and higher performance for HANA workloads. Novis designed a high level systems architecture and executed configuration changes consistent with ERP Financial operations, including stabilization of financial accounting and controlling workflows, tuning of transaction throughput, and enabling real-time analytics on the SAP platform.
Novis implemented a semi dedicated infrastructure in Merzas data center in Quer9taro, deploying Power 10 E1050 servers to host SAP HANA applications and Purestorage All-Flash storage to support the SAP landscape. The engagement included a four month landscape migration of Merzas SAP HANA systems onto the new platform, and the new SAP platform provisioning was aligned with operational reporting and availability requirements.
Operational governance was restructured to centralize support and incident workflows through a Level 1 SAP Service Desk acting as the single point of contact, backed by Level 2 and Level 3 technical teams provided by Novis. Monthly monitoring and reporting processes were formalized, delivering availability metrics, response time data, system capacity information, and SLA compliance analysis to Merza for ongoing operational oversight.
The implementation and subsequent optimization delivered explicit operational outcomes documented by the project, including improved system performance attributed to Power 10 E1050 servers and Purestorage All-Flash infrastructure, continuous availability with committed service levels of 99.90 percent in production and 99.72 percent in non production, and consolidated managed services for incident handling and technical support. Novis also provided contractual commitments around information security and breach response to protect Merzas SAP data and support legal compliance.
