Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Mobile Distribution Distribution ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Showdown Displays implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Mobile Distribution as the core of a Distribution ERP initiative targeting warehouse and shop floor execution. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Mobile Distribution deployment was positioned to enable mobile barcode scanning and to operationalize advanced warehousing workflows within the broader ERP footprint. The implementation leveraged Microsoft Business Central NAV advanced warehousing capabilities alongside Insight Works Warehouse Insight mobile scanning and Shop Floor Insight to introduce barcode driven warehouse and shop floor processes. Configuration work centered on mobile transaction flows for receiving, putaway, picking, cycle counting and shop floor data capture, with Shop Floor Insight used to capture production transactions and support tighter production scheduling. Integrations included direct operational coupling between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Mobile Distribution and Business Central NAV as the transactional system of record, plus integration of Insight Works Warehouse Insight and Shop Floor Insight for mobile device scanning and shop floor event capture. The rollout targeted manufacturing, warehouse and shop floor process areas and was focused on aligning inventory transactions with production order sequencing and warehouse execution flows. Governance changes emphasized standardized barcode driven procedures and shop floor reporting to support operational control and production scheduling. The project delivered explicit outcomes in the implementation notes, including improved inventory visibility, reduced scrap, increased throughput, faster and more accurate warehouse operations and better production scheduling.
